Tardive Dyskinesia

Tardive dyskinesia, a possible Seroquel side effect, is characterized by tics and uncontrollable muscle spasms. It is found mainly in older female patients.
Dementia

Elderly people who have been diagnosed with dementia should not take Seroquel. It can cause heart failure, pneumonia and sudden death.
Suicidal Thoughts

As with any antidepressant, Seroquel can cause suicidal thoughts and worsened depression. This mainly occurs at the beginning of treatment, or in the event of a change of dosage. While this side effect predominantly affects children and teens, it has been seen in adults as well.
Other Side Effects

Some minor side effects may include drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation and dizziness. Some patients also have experienced heart palpitations, stomach upset and headache.
