Outpatient Mental Health Facilities for Children

Children who require mental health assistance can receive it at on an outpatient basis. Outpatient services differ from facility to facility, but usually include counseling and medication management. Outpatient services can be recommended by a child's physician, court or school.
  1. Aurora Mental Health Center

    • The Aurora Mental Health Center provides outpatient health services to children ages 7 to 17. Children can participate in group, family and individual therapy sessions while receiving help at the facility. The center also provides psychological testing and medical evaluations. The center also offers medication management if it is warranted. The center works closely with a child's school, social services and parents to provide the best care possible for a child struggling with mental health issues.

    Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Center

    • Children suffering from mental health issues can receive treatment at the Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Center. The center provides services for children who are experiencing depression, anxiety and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The center also works with children who were abducted. Patients can receive medication, psychological assessments and counseling on an outpatient basis. Outpatient services are available at four different locations in California.

    Lindner Center of Hope

    • Lindner Center of Hope provides outpatient mental health services for children ages 2 and older. The center is associated with the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Therapists work with children to diagnose and treat mental health issues. The center also offers genetic testing to determine the impact of medication on a child. The center offers individual, family and group counseling. Each child is assigned a team that consists of a therapist, psychiatric nurse and social worker. Caregivers and schools are encouraged to participate in a child's treatment plan. There is limited availability for new patients for the outpatient program at Lindner.
