• Straight & Narrow is a non-profit Catholic Charities organization founded in 1954. In New Jersey they operate in Mount Carmel Hospital, a state licensed detoxification hospital for alcohol, cocaine and heroin addicts. The facility has 20 beds and a 24-hour on-call nursing and medical staff. Straight & Narrow's medically monitored detox program lasts for 5 days, during which clients work to develop post-detox plans with an experienced counselor. • American Counseling Center is an outpatient detox program that primarily uses methadone or Suboxone/Subutex as therapeutic tools to treat recovering opiate addicts. Treatment includes using these detox medications in conjunction with weekly individual and group therapy sessions.
