Online Suicide Support Groups
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control reported 33,000 suicides in 2006. Suicide, the 11th leading cause of death, leaves behind family members and friends who must cope with grief. Support groups allow them to talk freely with others who understand their loss. Support groups also help those who have considered suicide, linking them to resources and services and sometimes just providing contact with people who understand. Support groups are located in communities, many are telephone support lines, but there has been an increase of online support groups. Online groups provide connections while not compromising privacy.-
