  Discuss your medication options with your doctor. Both parties must be in agreement about the medication change.

  Develop a plan with your physician to discontinue taking Cymbalta and begin taking Celexa. Your doctor may choose to slowly wean you off Cymbalta while slowly increasing your dosage of Celexa. Your doctor may also choose to have you wean completely off Cymbalta before beginning Celexa.

  Decrease your dosage of Cymbalta each day until you are no longer taking the medication.

  Increase your dosage of Celexa each day until you are taking the full prescribed dosage.

  Follow up with your physician regularly until you have reached a stable dosage of Celexa and your moods have stabilized.
