Can I be ab negative and rh negative?
Yes, you can be AB-negative and Rh-negative. The AB-negative blood group is one of the eight main blood groups of the human ABO blood group system. It is characterised by the presence of both A and B antigens on the surface of red blood cells, and the absence of Rh factor (Rh-negative). Rh factor, or Rh(D) antigen, is an additional protein found on the surface of red blood cells in most humans. People who are Rh-negative do not have this protein.
The AB-negative blood group is considered to be rare and makes up only a small percentage of the population. It is different from A-negative, B-negative and O-negative blood types, which lack either the A, B or both A and B antigens on their red blood cells, respectively.
