Stop drinking or doing any kind of drugs. Suffering from anger problems, it's easily triggered by these substances. If you need help on quitting, then seek a therapist, or join a rehab right away.

Take ten deep breaths. When it's about to hit, STOP. Just wait and take ten, slow deep breaths. You are about explode, without thinking anything through. This can be short-term, but effecting way of dealing with anger, when it's about to hit you hard.

Remove yourself from the situation. If it's about to blow on someone's presence, verbally or physically, remove yourself. Walk away, excuse yourself. Clear your head over it, before you are about to blow.

Think about the situation. Try to make total sense of what, or why you are so mad. Chances you're truly overreacting and blowing the situation out of control. Let your thoughts simmer and make peace of what is making you so angry. The anger is hurting you more than the person. You have to understand this part. Sometimes people don't always do something you want. So in your mind you try to get even with them and take it out on them. Even if you try to get back at them, it's going to still take more out of you, than them. So they win again. The easy solution is to compromise.

Have peaceful thoughts. Doing this could be bringing more happiness in your life. Maybe you should just smile more, and stop thinking about the worse of every situation. If you do this, no wonder you're always mad. Stop assuming the worse in everything, and reverse this mindset. Start thinking about the positives in everything, you'll start to be less aggressive in your attack on others. This really works, it has for me. Start to find some joy in something. It can be really simple, as long as it's relaxing.
