FIrst depression may just be from diet and lack of excercise. If you are lacking iron and certain of the B-complex vitamins in your diet, you can become seriously depressed. This type of depression needs to be corrected by wholesome nutrition along with massive doses of vitamins and minerals. Junk food and excess caffeine should be avoided, and you should exercise vigorously.

Try to open up to other people and draw them in. It always helps to pray and read the Bible, which is the source of comfort and the source of life. Being around an upbeat person or those who care can get you out of the funk your stuck in.

Go outside. A nice spring day can cheer up even the saddest person. But staying out in the sun is beneficial for more than just poetic and emotional reasons. Sunlight has an important role in many chemical processes taking place in our body. Even the rain can become a cleansing for the crap that this world leaves on you.

Get involved. An active life leaves very little room for depression. You tend to let negative feelings dominate your mood when you reach a point of constant and repetitive analysis of problems. Even extra hours at work may help to take your mind away from being in a so to speak life block.

Allow some time for relaxation. Have fun and relax your mind and body. When negative thoughts start circling, shift your focus to a pleasant element. It can be a person, a location, something around you, or even a distant memory. Clear your head of all the negative feelings and all your worries. Take a nice warm bath with some red wine.

Sleep only 6-8 hours a night and avoid sitting around or taking unneeded naps. to much sleep can shut off the brains ability to tell your body to five you pleasure.
