1
Look for a box with a diffuser screen on the front. This will reduce glare and help prevent eyestrain while using the light box.
-
2
Positioning of the light box should be at eye level, so you should look for a model that will work best for you. Where will you be receiving your light therapy? Do you have a table you can set your light box on, or will you need a light box that comes with a floor stand?

Follow your doctor's instructions on using the light box. The general course of treatment is one 20- to 60-minute session every day, preferably in the early morning. You do not need to look directly into the light box. Light therapy is generally considered safe. Side effects may include insomnia, irritability or feeling "wired." If you experience these symptoms, reduce your light therapy sessions and talk to your doctor.
