1
Realize that even beautiful people think they are ugly. Self-esteem issues plague even the most admired, sought-after people in our society. Just because you feel ugly doesn't mean you are or that others perceive you that way.
-
2
Learn to smile. Learn to laugh. Let your inner beauty bubble up from the inside. A person who is smiling and happy appears much more attractive.
-
3
Do things for yourself, such as dressing nicely, wearing makeup, doing your hair and taking care of yourself. These simple acts attract attention from other people and help you gain self-confidence. Do things that make you feel good about yourself.
-
4
Exercise regularly. Exercise helps you get in shape and get a better body image. Exercise also reduces stress, high blood pressure and makes you feel good about yourself. When you feel better physically, you will start feeling better about yourself mentally.
-
5
Try something new. Get a new haircut, a new wardrobe or a new manicure. Do things that make you feel good about yourself. Trying new things can give you a new outlook on your life and your looks.

6
Consult your doctor if you still feel ugly or depressed. You could be suffering from clinical depression. Your doctor can suggest treatments to improve your self-image and fight your depression.
