Mastering Mind Control
The mind is a terrible thing to waste. Stress is due in part to how we as human beings perceive a situation. Sometimes there are valid reasons for becoming stressed. Someone may be faced with a dangerous situation, and the body releases adrenaline -- heightening our senses so that we can react quickly in a moment's notice. When stress becomes distress, the mind is often on a repetitive cycle of negative thoughts, which can cause ill effects throughout the body.Things You'll Need

1
Use sense control to see beyond a situation that causes distress, instead of focusing on the emotions that are caused by the situation. Focus instead on how you reacted, and access your response from a critical standpoint. Ask yourself questions in regard to your emotions, to determine if your feelings are justified. Determine what purpose or importance the situation has, and eradicate it from your life completely if unworthy of your attention.

2
Control your mind by freeing yourself from a situation or a manipulative person. A negative situation or person will become less powerful when the desire to interact lessens. This is due to awareness. Gain your personal power back by mastering the emotional response, and this will give you the ultimate control. Revel in the empowerment of mind control, once you find yourself no longer affected. This will make you stronger.

Use deep breathing techniques found in yoga to master your breathing and calm your mind, while going through the process of mastering mind control. When in a calm state, reason with yourself. Think about what is stressing and worrying you, and decide on what action to take. Don't react to a distressing situation at the emotional level, before the control level has even been reached.

4
Determine if the person or negative situation is of any value in your life. Most times, people will find the easiest way to eliminate a negative person is to eradicate him completely from their lives, thus letting in positive people as reinforcement only. Practice positive thinking always to master mind control. Unfortunately some people -- those severely mentally ill -- may find reasoning difficult.

Keep a diary of your thoughts, fears and desires, and write in it every day. Release negative thoughts about people, who are harassing you or toying with your emotions. As you write, try to see the reality of the people or a situation, instead of focusing on your emotional response to them. Perhaps people have severe character flaws. You need to master your own mind, through a clear assessment of the situation, and not focus on another person's limitations.
