Psychological Self Assessment Questions

A psychological self-assessment helps a person reflect on different aspects of his life. Answers to general questions help reveal deeper parts of the self that the person might be interested in. There are different types of self-assessments that are geared toward different areas, like career, relationships and personality.
  1. Personality Tests

    • Self-assessment tests that are used to indicate personality types include questions about an individual's perception of things. Some personality questions are general, like "Do you focus on the outer world or your own personal world?" More specific questions might include, "How likely are you to procrastinate on an important assignment?"

    Career Tests

    • There are self-assessment tests that help individuals know more about their strengths and weaknesses in the workplace. Some tests, also known as aptitude tests, help a person find out what career best suits her personality. Aptitude tests include questions about how social you are, as well as questions to test whether you have left-brain or right-brain strengths. Questions such as, "How likely are you to stay positive in the midst of failure?" will test how well you deal with criticism.

    Relationship Tests

    • Another area where self-assessment is important is relationships. Understanding the positive and negative traits you bring into a relationship lets yous know what areas need improvement. A question such as "Do you raise your voice when you get upset?" can help determine a person's arguing style. There are also tests that find out how attentive a person is to her partner, as well as how well she actually listens.
