1
Attach a puppy harness to your puppy. A young canine of a large or strong-framed breed is necessary.
-
2
Snap one end of two puppy leashes to the top of the dog harness.
-
3
Pour approximately two lbs. of gravel into each of two nylon sacks. Tie each nylon sack to each leash at the ends not attached to the harness.
-
4
Give your dog time to acclimate to the slight change in weight and sensation of having items attached to its harness. The dog eventually gets comfortable enough for you to train it. Play fetch with your dog or call it around your home or yard to get it started.
-
5
Increase the amount of gravel in each nylon sack by half a pound every week as your dog builds muscle mass and increases strength. Eventually you can replace the nylon sacks with a weight-pulling cart, which are available from pet sporting supply vendors online or through sporting goods catalogs.
