What medicines in the benzodiazepine family are used to treat insomnia?

Several benzodiazepine (BZD) family medicines are frequently used in the short-term management of insomnia:

Diazepam

Temazepam

Midazolam

Flunitrazepam

Estazolam

Note: Due to the risk of habit formation, tolerance, and other safety concerns, these drugs should always be taken as prescribed and under the close supervision of a healthcare practitioner. BZD use is strongly recommended for short-term use only (maximum of 4 weeks).
