Heat some water and pour it over a chamomile tea bag in a cup or mug. Let the tea steep for about five minutes, and sip it slowly while taking deep, long breaths. Make sure that the tea is not too hot before your sip it. Try to drink hot chamomile tea about 15 minutes before attempting to sleep.

Take a relaxing bath. Fill a bathtub with warm to hot water and drop in five to six drops of pure lavender essential oil. In aromatherapy, lavender can act like a sedative and can help relax the body and the mind when you are preparing for sleep. Soak in the bathtub for about 20 to 30 minutes, taking in deep breaths. Try to soak in a lavender bath about 30 to 40 minutes before you try to sleep.
