How to Cure Disorientation
Disorientation is not a disease in itself, rather it is a symptom of an actual disease. Also known as vertigo, it occurs randomly as a sense of dizziness or blurred vision. It can also have an unbalancing effect when walking. Disorientation can be dangerous, especially when driving, running or walking. It is important to find the underlying cause of the disorientation, as it is usually a symptom of a more serious medical condition. Disorientation may also occur after a head injury, making it all the more important to visit your doctor.Instructions

Consult with your doctor. Disorientation may be the result of a more serious condition that needs to be examined right away. The sooner you visit your doctor, the sooner he may be able to treat you effectively with medication or other treatments. Check with your doctor to rule out any serious medical conditions.

Use a home remedy if the condition is less serious. Insomnia, a sleep disorder that makes it difficult to fall or stay asleep, may be what is causing disorientation. In this case, a few simple home remedies can be used to alleviate disorientation when it occurs. When you experience it, slowly place your right hand on your forehead, press your head into the palm of your hand for 10 seconds, then release. Repeat this several times until the dizziness subsides.

Eat the foods that alleviate disorientation. If the underlying cause is less serious, poppy seeds, dates and citrus fruits may help reduce the frequency of your disorientation episodes. Add these foods to your daily diet.

Even if it does not happen too often, disorientation still has an underlying cause. Alzheimer's disease, meningitis and dementia are examples of the more serious medical conditions that list disorientation as a symptom. Consult with your doctor to rule out these conditions.
