Mental tiredness or mental fatigue is caused from numerous factors, ranging from being overworked to stressed.       Use essential oils, such as lavender, rosemary and peppermint, which have stimulating and refreshing qualities. Try adding about 10 drops of your preferred essential oil into your bath and soak for at least 15 minutes. Also add a couple drops of an essential oil to a massage oil to use for a relaxing massage. Inhale essential oils by placing a few drops on a handkerchief and breathing in the scent.

      Exercise routinely, especially outdoors. Take a relaxing bike ride, walk or jog, or consider joining an aerobics class. Also do exercises such as yoga to meditate and relax while also working out. Exercise increases the amount of oxygen reaching the brain, which will improve cognitive skills. During exercise, your brain releases endorphins, which can prevent depression.

      Sleep at least eight hours every night. Inadequate sleep can result in both physical and mental tiredness, which leaves you with an insufficient amount of energy to get you through the day. Without the appropriate amount of sleep, your mind and body is not given the opportunity to recharge.

      Adopt a healthy and balanced diet that does not include alcohol. To keep your blood sugar levels stable, do not skip meals and avoid sugary foods. Consume complex carbohydrates from fruits, vegetables and whole grains, which will provide you with a variety of minerals, vitamins and fiber that are fuel for your body. Talk to a nutritionist before starting a diet. Also take a vitamin supplement if your doctor recommends it.
