Side Effects

Geodon does have some side effects. They include sleepiness, dizziness, restlessness and uncontrolled muscle movements. Some people may experience weight gain.
Taking Geodon

Geodon may take a few weeks to work. It should always be taken at the same time each day and be taken with food. People taking Geodon should keep taking it until their doctor tells them to stop.
Who Should Not Take Geodon

Elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis should not take Geodon. Taking Geodon puts them at increased risk of death. People with certain kinds of heart conditions should not take Geodon, as Geodon may increase the risk of changes to heart rhythm.
