Haldol Injections Side Effects

Haldol (haloperidol) injectable is most commonly used for treating patients suffering from a psychotic disorder, such as schizophrenia. Discuss any potential side effects of this and other medications for treating schizophrenia with your physician.

  1. Tardive Dyskinesia

    • Tardive dyskinesia (TD) refers to involuntary movements that can develop as a result of using an antipsychotic. TD is believed to be irreversible, especially after long-term use of antipsychotics. It is most common in elderly patients.

    Cardiovascular Side Effects

    • Weight gain is a common side effect of antipsychotic medications. Monitoring your diet and following an exercise routine can help prevent weight gain.
