Can someone become a sociopath later in life?

It is highly unlikely that someone can develop sociopathic traits later in life. Sociopathy is typically characterized by a lack of empathy and impaired social skills, which are characteristics that are usually established in childhood or adolescence. However, individuals can acquire certain sociopathic tendencies due to traumatic events or neurological conditions, but this is uncommon and not the same as the full disorder.
