Force yourself to smile huge. The act of smiling alone makes us happy. The brain is so used to the action, and because of the mood associated that, not only will you smile when you are happy, but your mood will elevate when you smile. Listen to music. Music has a hold on your subconscious like no other form of art. Do not listen to sad or emotional songs: music takes your mood in the direction of the song. A sad song will make you feel worse, whereas an uplifting song will take your worries away and put you in a good mood.

Snuggle a pet (your own or a friend's). These are simple creatures that you can kiss and squeeze. The smallest sign of affection from a cute little creature can turn your day around. If you are lucky, the creature of choice will likely snuggle you back.
