We all have those days where nothing seems to be going correctly and nothing seems to be getting done. It can be easy to find yourself barely treading water as you try to please everyone at work, along with your family and even your friends. Instructions

    • 1

Cope with stress or overwhelming feelings by meditating, exercising or just by relaxing. Try to erase all thoughts which will help your mind clear and give you a calming effect. By calming down and clearing your head, it will help you reprioritize items you may be feeling overwhelmed about.

    • 2

Prioritize. Write out a list of things that you need to get done. Don't think about how or when you will get them done, just make a list of everything.

    • 3

Rate each item on your list on a scale of 1 to 3. Items with a 1 are urgent items that need to be done. Items with a 2 should be next on the list and items with a 3 should be last on the list. Also label items on your list that you can eliminate from your life.

    • 4

Say "No." If you find yourself overwhelmed because you have said "Yes" to several commitments, try saying "No." You can choose which commitments you want to keep and which ones you want to break. There's no need to feel overwhelmed because of too many commitments.

    • 5

Talk to someone about how you are feeling, whether a close family member, friend or professional therapist. By talking things out, you will release those feelings that have been bottled up.

    • 6

Focus on the positive things in your life. This will clarify what is important.
