How to Embrace Your Strengths

It is difficult to find success if you don't believe in yourself. No matter who you are, you are bound to have some strengths and skills that few other people have. If you ignore these skills, it will be difficult to develop self-confidence and therefore difficult to find success at work, while dating or in other areas. However, if you focus on these strengths, you can both improve them and develop the confidence you need for success.

Instructions

    • 1

Write down your three favorite things about yourself. The act of expressing what you like about yourself will make your positive qualities seem much more real, which will make them easier to embrace.

    • 2

Thinking about how your strengths can help you avoid weaknesses. For example, if one of your strengths is the ability to shop efficiently, and one of your weaknesses is an inability to say no to junk food when it's in the house, then you should use your strength to avoid buying junk food. By using your strengths to avoid your weaknesses, you are using them to improve your life and better yourself, which makes them more tangible.

    • 3

Devote a specific time each day to working on your strengths. If, for example, one of your strengths is the ability to talk to anyone, then you should try to make conversation with at least one stranger per day. By recognizing and using your strengths, you are reminding yourself of them and embracing them more effectively.

Set a goal that involves your strengths. If reading is one of your strengths, then tell yourself you are going to read at least two books a month. Again, this will help you embrace your strengths by using them.
