1
Create a list of goals that you want to accomplish. Break down the goals into small sections. For example, instead of putting the broad goal of "Write essay" on your list, you should write, "Find sources for essay," "Create rough draft of essay," "Edit essay," etc. Mark the goals off your list as you reach them.
-
2
Create a schedule that will help you accomplish the goals you set. Allot a specific amount of time to each task. Include time set aside to take breaks, as these will increase your productivity.
-
3
Set up a work space that will help you accomplish your goals. Get rid of distractions by turning off the television, wearing headphones to block out noise and cleaning your working area. If you're working on a computer, avoid accessing programs and websites that aren't needed to accomplish the task at hand.
-
4
Remind yourself what you're working on and why it's important to you. If you're doing a project for work, you may not be completely interested in it, but you can still think about the money you're earning, bills that need to be paid and how you're going to treat yourself to something special when you finish.
-
5
Reward yourself at the end of the day if you reached all your goals.
