Tips on Time Organization
-
Calendars
-
Track dates on your calendar Post a calendar in a visible place, such as the kitchen. Make sure the day slots are large enough to accommodate tasks, work assignments or important family functions, anniversaries and birthdays.
Write a To-Do List
-
Write it down Listing your goals on paper can help with time organization. Things can slip your mind, especially when you have a lot to do. List daily goals and activities according to importance, and track your progress regularly. Keep your list in a place you pass regularly, such as the refrigerator or by the telephone.
Set Alerts for Yourself
-
Set a timer for tasks If you work on multiple projects in one day, schedule time for each project and stick to them. For example, if you plan to study one hour a day for school, set a timer when you begin. This keeps you from going over the time limit, and also keeps you on task.
Keep Color-coded Folders
-
Colorful folders keep you organized. For work or school, you may spend a lot of time rustling through papers to find your latest assignment or project. Separate work tasks or classes into different colored folders, labeling the front in bold writing. Keep these folders in a designated area that is easily accessible.
