How to Make a Hypnosis CD
Hypnotic states of focused attention are very natural. Most people go in and out of them several times a day -- becoming absorbed in a book or movie is a light hypnotic state. Making your own hypnosis CD requires some research and patience, but is worth the effort. You can harness the power of your subconscious mind to lose weight, stop smoking, control pain or just relax and have a pleasant experience. You can pattern your script after others, or tailor it for any purpose you choose.Things You'll Need

Writing a Script
-
1
Do some research online or in a book store on hypnosis scripts dealing with your area of interest. There are usually sample scripts for self-hypnosis, which might work as they are, or you can modify them for your specific situation. Once you see how scripts are worded, you can create your own. It is important to use language compatible with your beliefs and values, language that is meaningful to you. For example, If a sample hypnosis script contains language about the beach and you hate going there, don't adopt that imagery.
-
2
Write a hypnotic induction to create stillness of the body. An induction leads you into the experience, relaxes you and prepares you for the suggestions ahead. Some scripts use instructions on relaxing various muscle groups -- called progressive relaxation -- while others focus on slowing down the breathing process. The induction can last anywhere from five to 10 minutes.
-
3
Engage the imagination by disassociating from ordinary reality. Often this part of the induction involves going to a "favorite place" in nature, perhaps a place in the mountains or the beach, a lake or stream or beautiful meadow you have visited. As you are writing it, practice using all your senses to really "be there" in that place, and create a complete experience of being away from your normal waking reality.
-
4
Make a list of the ideas you want to suggest to yourself. Ideas can be philosophical, and may include the reasons you want to give up a certain behavior, such as smoking ("I now know I want to lead a healthier life" is one example.) Ideas also can suggest behaviors, such as "Each time I think of smoking a cigarette, I find that my desire has gone away."
-
5
Think of helpful post-hypnotic suggestions, such as "Whenever I notice my muscles tensing with anxiety, I immediately take deep, restful breaths to relax." Or "Whenever I run into this person who hurt me deeply, I feel strong, knowing this is past and he or she no longer has the power."
-
6
Bring yourself back to reality slowly within your script, allowing plenty of time to adjust. Suggest that the energy is returning to your arms and legs and that you are feeling more alert. Then count forward from one up to 10, and mention when finished counting, you will open your eyes and feel refreshed and relaxed.
Recording the Script
-
7
Practice reading through your script several times before you record it. Ideally, it should run around 15 to 20 minutes. Once you become more practiced at hypnosis, it may take less time to achieve a hypnotic state and you can record a shorter version.
-
8
Record your script onto your computer or onto another software recording device. Once it is in MP3 form, burn it to a CD, play it back and enjoy it.
-
9
Listen to your CD through headphones to immerse yourself in the experience. This helps block out any outside noise or interference. Find a place where you will not be disturbed.
