Positive Thinking Ideas
Positive thinking is the ability to turn your thoughts and feelings into an optimistic way of looking at life. In order to truly benefit from positive thinking, you must believe in what you are saying to yourself, and teach yourself to stay focused on the good things in your life.-
Start a Journal
-
Journaling is writing down your thoughts regularly. For positive thinking, journaling should be centered around positive occurrences.
For example, daily writing should include affirmations about the good and things that happened that day. This would include things such as no traffic on the way to work, a great lunch with friends, meeting deadlines at work, favorite television shows, and the dog meeting you at the door. Though they may seem small and irrelevant, everyday positive events, actions and ideas are the root of an overall positive attitude.
Exercise
-
Exercise is a way to not only stay healthy also making you happier. During exercise, tell yourself, aloud if you're alone or in your head when around others, that you deserve to be healthy and happy. Tell yourself positive things about yourself, and the good ways you affect others. Exercise increases endorphins, which are the brain's natural mood elevator.
Smile
-
Smiling is a simple way to show an outward expression of positive thinking. Make a habit of smiling every time you think a happy thought. Even if you are feeling down, try forcing yourself to smile. It oftentimes triggers a natural smile.
