1
Find a quiet place where you can slow down and relax without the distractions of your phone, friends, family and job. Make a specific date with yourself to head to your quiet place. Allow 30 minutes or more each week for this pursuit.
-
2
During your quiet time, close your eyes and take some deep breaths. Inhale through your nose for four seconds and exhale through your mouth for four seconds. Focus on your breath. Allow your thoughts to wander without becoming involved in these thoughts. Simply let the thoughts come and go.

3
As your body relaxes and your stresses begin to lift, let your thoughts drift back to childhood. Think back to the activities you enjoyed as a child. Consider what subjects interested you in school. Ask yourself to recollect a time when you felt truly happy. Stay with these thoughts until you feel satisfied and slowly bring yourself back to the present and open your eyes. Write down all the happy memories that came to you.
-
4
Repeat Step 2 one week after completing Step 3. As your body relaxes, ask yourself what 10 things you would do after winning the lottery. After buying a fancy car and taking your family on a fabulous vacation, consider how you would spend your days. As you bring yourself from the quiet, write down your thoughts. Now, ask yourself why you aren't doing the 10 things you described.

5
Pick one item from the list you created in Step 4 and pick one childhood activity which brought you joy from Step 3. Make time to enjoy each activity within the next two weeks. Set two specific dates to accomplish these two activities. Don't allow life to get in the way. Giving yourself time to enjoy your passions will lead you to your purpose.
-
6
Repeat Steps 2 through 5 for a period of months until your purpose emerges. Making time for yourself to examine your life is vital. The first step in finding your passion and purpose remains in the commitment you make to yourself. Continue until clarity surfaces and, before you realize, you will be living the life you're intended.
