1
Enjoy the silence. Turning off the internal mental chatter and external environmental noise may be challenging, but it is possible. Put tape over television buttons, paste sticky notes with written words like "quiet" or "silence" throughout your house, and inform your family and friends of your choice for peace. You can also journal your thoughts and practice reflection, meditation or prayer to transform negative ego talk into a receiving state for divinely guided wisdom.

2
Focus on the present moment. Of the thousands of thoughts that enter your mind daily, most automatically revert to past memories or future worries and concerns while the here-and-now remains elusive. Set your clock for designated times during the day, such as every hour. When the alarm rings, take a few deep breaths and bring your attention back to the present by following your inhalation and exhalation patterns. Say a brief affirmation, such as "I breathe in all that is good and release what no longer serves my purpose."

3
Apply Law of Attraction principles. The Law of Attraction states that your persistent thoughts and feelings create your physical reality. If you concentrate on negative self-talk or expend hurtful energy toward yourself, the universe will provide you with circumstances that mirror those negative intentions, even if your subconscious mind created them. Improve your thoughts and emotional state so that you consciously draw into your life higher vibrational experiences.

4
Create an inspirational sacred space. Keep tangible objects such as angel statues, affirmation magnets, pictures of your power animal, or lists of motivational quotes in an energetically cleansed, clutter-free area designed by and for you. Play audio CDs by self-improvement gurus to center your thoughts and words on positive, health-promoting statements.

5
Engage in holistic healing efforts. Understanding the mind-body-soul connection can help you realize the interrelationship between your mental, emotional and spiritual aspects and your physical wellness. Saying affirmations, visualizing success, releasing fears, having an attitude of gratitude and expressing forgiveness can have positive impacts on your overall state of being.
