Stress Ball Techniques
In a fast-paced world, it is common for everyone to experience stress. Many people develop tense muscles, headaches or irritability. Finding a quick way to release this stress can help improve concentration and mood. Stress balls are a fun, cheap and fast way to relieve tension. Using a stress ball in combination with the breathing patterns described in this article can help relax your mind and body to improve the quality of your life.-

This technique is a short breathing exercise that incorporates the stress ball. It can be used in any place, at any time when stress becomes unmanageable. Grip the stress ball and close your eyes. Concentrate on your breathing. Inhale for eight counts, hold your breath for five slow counts, and exhale for eight more counts. Repeat this pattern. While breathing, gently squeeze the stress ball in a nice even rhythm. As you perform the exercise, you will begin to feel more relaxed.
Relaxing Tense Muscles

If your job involves sitting in a small cubicle, you may develop tense muscles. A stress ball can relieve these minor aches and pains, especially in your shoulders, lower back and calves. Lay with your back flat on the floor. Place the stress ball between the sore muscles on your body and the floor. Slowly move up and down with small, lateral movements, so that the stress ball is rolling underneath you. The pressure of your own weight against the ball should act as a natural massage mechanism. This also works well for sore hands and wrists when rolled between the palms of the hands.
Finite Finger Stress Relievers

Excessive use of the computer keyboard or other repetitive tasks can initiate the development of carpal tunnel syndrome. To relieve the pain, take a stress ball in one of your hands. Press with your index finger, and relax. Next, press with your middle finger and relax. Continue through your ring finger and pinkie. When you have stretched each of your fingers, squeeze the stress ball with your entire fist, and relax. Repeat with your other hand.
