How to Get an Attitude

Sometimes a person lives life with no zeal or zest and needs an attitude adjustment. Your new attitude can be either good or bad; it depends on your individual needs. However, a good, positive attitude allows you to achieve your goals with renewed confidence. Whatever the type of attitude, everyone should have one that provides the best potential for success, whether it's in life, love or career.

Instructions

    • 1

Study how others treat you and how that affects your life. How other people react to you will dictate if your attitude should be more or less aggressive. However, this is not the sole factor that determines the attitude adjustment.

    • 2

Judge how you perceive yourself. Self-respect is another key in having an attitude. If you do not respect yourself, then others will not respect you, and your new attitude will fail to make others take note.

    • 3

Adjust your attitude gradually over time. If you change your attitude overnight, people will not have time to adjust. People do not like change and most likely will react negatively even if your attitude is positive.

    • 4

Try out your new attitude by testing it on close friends or talking into the mirror. This will give you an idea of how others will react and how it looks before you go out in public.

    • 5

Act decisively and assertively with your new attitude. Whichever attitude you choose, you must commit to this attitude. Speak directly and confidently to people, and don't have bad body language, like slumped shoulders or poor eye contact.
