Life can be stressful sometimes, but luckily there are many ways to calm down and relax after a long day. You may need to experiment to find which activities and practices will work for you, but you can find a range of natural ways to relax.

Exercise. Going for a walk or a bike ride can be a great way of calming your mind and body after a busy day. You'll want to go earlier in the evening so you don't disrupt your sleep cycle, but you'll sleep better when exercise is a part of your day and you'll be more relaxed.

Use meditation or yoga to help you calm your mind. Even just a few minutes can be enough to relax and leave your day behind. You can also use these practices before bed to help you prepare for sleep.

Breathe slower and deeper. You can make practice a part of your meditation and yoga exercise or just spend a few minutes taking long, deep breaths once you get home. Deep breathing has a relaxing effect, and you'll often find yourself much calmer after just a few breaths.

Put lavender or other calming essential oils in a bath or spray a little diluted oil on your pillow. These calming scents can help you wind down after a long day. Other aromatherapy products designed to calm and relax can also be used.

Do something that you enjoy for 15 or 20 minutes right after work. You might choose to read, listen to music or play with your kids. Choose activities that are different than your daily work, so if you sit at the computer all day, get up and do something else for this period of time.
