Sleep it off. If you can, try taking a nap or going to bed earlier than normal. Time passes fastest for us when we are sleeping. If you have the opportunity, take this chance to catch up on some sleep.

Plan another event or outing in the meantime. Focus your energy on something equally as enticing as the thing you are looking forward to. It might even be possible to schedule another fun or exciting event in the meantime, so you have less time to wait. Planning another experience keeps you from obsessing and helps make time fly.

Do something that forces you to occupy your mind. Go see a movie. During a movie, it's hard to focus on anything but the story line. Get involved in a real page-turner. A novel is usually a quick read and if you choose a great book, it can make time pass very quickly.

Be productive. Clean and organize your closets. Plant a garden. Volunteer for those less fortunate than you are. Keep yourself busy with something that gives you a sense of accomplishment when you are finished.
