How to Not Be Easily Irritated
Being constantly irritated can cause frequent headaches and affect your life at home and at work. Instead of allowing every little thing to irritate you, find ways to reduce your irritability. You can employ numerous strategies to lower your irritation level while increasing the quality of your life such as getting enough sleep, starting your day with a positive attitude, keeping busy, spending time with close friends and family, writing in a journal and talking with a therapist.Instructions

1
Sleep eight hours a night. If you have to be up for work or school the next day, go to bed early. Not getting enough sleep causes you to be tired the next day, which leads to irritability.

2
Begin your day with a positive attitude. Replace your negative thoughts with positive ones. For example, if you have a job interview, imagine yourself doing well at the interview. Say to yourself, "I am prepared for my interview. I will succeed."

3
Stay busy. When you feel irritated about something, getting active will distract you. Go for a run, read a book, do household chores or call a friend. By doing this, you are taking your mind off what is irritating you.

4
Spend time with those who are close to you. Watch a television show with a family member or go shopping with a friend. Call a friend you haven't talked to in a while, and ask her to meet you for lunch or coffee.

5
Write in a journal. When you feel irritated, write down your feelings. Don't be afraid to let it all out because your journal is for your eyes only, so you can write your true feelings.

Talk to a therapist. If irritability is taking over your life, seek a professional's help. A licensed therapist can help you determine the causes of your irritability and suggest ways to cope with stress.
