Remind yourself that you are not alone, you are safe, and you will not feel scared forever.

Exercise by running around, dancing, having a pillow fight, or even shadow boxing. You need to get your mind out of the "flight" stage and into the "fight" stage.

Interact with people. Talking, hugging and being around those you trust will make you feel safe.

Keep your mind distracted by watching a cheery comedy or relaxing to peaceful music.

Calm your nerves by sitting down, controlling your breathing, and reminding yourself that you are in charge.

Avoid coffee or other caffeine products that may worsen your state of mind.
