Shame, pride, and embarrassment are all emotions that are rooted in our sense of self. In order to feel these emotions, we must first be aware of ourselves as individuals and have a sense of our own worth and value. This is because these emotions are all about how we perceive ourselves in relation to others.

For example, we can only feel shame if we believe that we have done something wrong or that we are not good enough. We can only feel pride if we believe that we have accomplished something good or that we are worthy of respect. And we can only feel embarrassment if we believe that we have made a fool of ourselves or that we are not being taken seriously.

Therefore, in order to feel these emotions, we must first have a sense of self-awareness and be able to reflect on our own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
