How to Get Rid of Exhaustion

If you're constantly struggling to keep your eyes open and find yourself drifting off, you might have exhaustion. Exhaustion is more than being occasionally tired after lunch. Exhaustion often stems from lifestyle choices like diet, alcohol use, caffeine, nutrition and general wellness. Take a nap or go to sleep if exhausted. It's the best way to fight exhaustion, especially if the fatigue only happens occasionally. Drink at least eight glasses of water each day. Fatigue can come from dehydration. Studies by the USDA Agricultural Research Service showed that people that were dehydrated were more likely to report exhaustion.

Eat more healthy foods, especially fruits and vegetables to battle ongoing exhaustion. Eat a balanced diet that includes whole grains, vegetables, lean protein and healthy oils, like olive oil. Limit the amount of sugary and fatty foods consumed. Sugar can give you a temporary boost in energy, but healthy foods are consumed differently and give you more energy over the long run according to the Harvard HealthBeat. Go on a walk when you feel exhausted and aren't able to go to sleep. Walking even just 10 to 15 minutes can get your blood flowing and increase your energy level. Exercising regularly is helpful to beating ongoing exhaustion. Going on walks and exercising can also help with some of the common causes of fatigue like stress and depression.
