How to Laugh Yourself Happy

Everyone knows that laughter is good for them. Even in the Bible there is an old proverb that states that a cheerful heart does good like medicine. However, it is not easy to laugh when you are filled with trouble and stress. It takes a little effort to get out from under the cloud, but a few minutes of laughter will do wonders for your mental health.

      Listen to laughter. It is so contagious. There are laugh clips online that are quite funny or you can listen to children. They laugh so much more often during the course of a day than adults.

      Read some jokes, or better yet, tell some jokes. There is something about trying to tell a joke with a straight face that usually ends up making you laugh.

      Go see a funny movie or to a comedy show. A good comedian has a way of looking at everyday life and seeing the humor in it.

      Do a practical joke on someone. It doesn't have to be harmful or at their expense, it can just be fun.

      Laugh out loud. Sure, everyone will think you are crazy. If it is just too much to do around people, then try it in a private place. See if it works for you.
