How to Make Stress Balls
More than half of adult Americans deal with overwhelming stress every day. These small, inexpensive and easy to make stress balls can help relieve that stress. When your fist firmly squeezes a stress ball, your muscles concentrate the tension into your hand. When the squeeze is released, the tension caused by stress relaxes.Things You'll Need
- Bag of small balloons
- Scissors
- Sand
- Fine sieve or sifter
Instructions

1
Cut the neck off three balloons. This gives you a wider opening to fill up the balloon.
-
2
Pour the sand through a sifter or sieve to remove any small rocks or debris. This makes the sand light and fine when you squeeze it. Another option is to use flour in place of the sand. If flour is used, sift the flour at least twice to get the best consistency.
-
3
Fill one of the cut balloons all the way up with the flour or sand.
-
4
Place one of the other cut balloons over the open end of the filled balloon. This traps the flour or sand in the balloon. Repeat this process with the last cut balloon, going from the other direction. This last balloon covers the open end of the second balloon.
-
5
Place an uncut balloon over the stress ball and tie the end to hold it into place. Use more balloons to add firmness to the stress ball. Continue to experiment until you find the best fit for you and your stress.
