The Structure of a Safety Organization

The World Safety Organization (WSO) is comprised of four divisions and six committees designed to oversee global health and safety issues. The group is designed to further awareness of the need for safe practices in the environment as well as the workplace.
  1. Divisions and Committees

    • Each division and committee of the WSO is led by a director, who oversees the group's goal to the practices, skills, arts and technologies of safety and accident prevention available worldwide. The divisions encompass occupational, environmental and transportation safety, with the fourth devoted to research and governmental advisory.

    Collaboration Centers

    • Collaboration centers are designated by the WSO President/Director General to support efforts in areas of safety where they are deemed expert. Among the groups which can be named collaboration centers are research institutes and universities. Their activities can include disseminating safety information, participating in research studies and training on safety subjects.

    Certifications

    • The WSO is authorized to certify 17 kinds of safety officials through application and, in some cases, written test.
