How to Certify a 12 Step Program

Twelve step programs, modeled after the tradition of Alcoholics Anonymous, are each self-supporting and autonomous. Attendees contribute to a common fund at each meeting to provide for basic group expenses. The usual donation is only $1 per meetings. Each organization also contributes to the main offices; Alcoholics Anonymous headquarters is located in New York. Twelve step programs may vary in the method of certification, dual recovery 12 step groups offer one way to certify 12 step programs.
