• Lloyd Burrell, a crusader for sensible cell phone usage on the Electric Sense website, believes most physical problems associated with cell phone usage come after repeated use, due to electromagnetic sensitivity. While the radiation emitted from cell phones may be small, Burrell believes accumulation of this radiation can be dangerous, especially when considering all the various sources of electromagnetic radiation in our daily lives.

Gastrointestinal Effects

• According to Burrell, some of the most common effects of electromagnetic radiation on the gastrointestinal tract include changes in appetite and food preferences. This radiation may also lead to an increase in flatulence.

A German Study

• The Center for Safer Wireless also notes that a January 2009 study on cell phone radiation in Selbitz, a town in the province of Bavaria in Germany, uncovered numerous physical problems believed to be from electromagnetic radiation. It also showed that those living close to cell phone towers and thus receiving even more radiation, experienced nausea, loss of appetite and numerous other physical problems as well.
