How to Locate an Inmate in New Jersey

Locating an inmate in New Jersey is done through the Department of Corrections website. Inmates can be housed either in prison or local county jails. Individuals looking for inmates cannot contact the department by telephone to request information about an inmate. The department does not honor any requests for inmate information. Once you have located an inmate through their online system, you may call that specific prison for additional information. The online system gives users with even a little information the ability to locate an inmate.
