Allergic Reactions to Lysol Disinfectant Spray

Though Lysol Disinfectant Spray is usually used to control germs in the home and create a healthy environment, it can have some adverse effects on those with allergies to cleaning solutions or bleach-type products. Chemicals found in the disinfectant spray can trigger allergies in those sensitive to cleaning products.

  1. Sneezing

    • If you experience an unusual amount of sneezing after spraying Lysol, you might be have an allergy to one or more of the chemicals used in the spray.

    Itchy Eyes

    • Chemical sensitivities can also cause itchy or watering eyes. This is especially true with disinfectant sprays since they are often sprayed into the air instead of onto surfaces.

    Hives

    • Another common allergy symptom is hives. When some people are subjected to chemical allergens, their skin will break out into red bumps or hives. These hives may or may not itch.

    Difficulty Breathing

    • Difficulty breathing is a sign that you may have inhaled something to which you are allergic. If Lysol Disinfectant Spray has been sprayed into the air around you and you find that you have difficulty breathing normally, you may have a chemical allergy problem.
