When do you stop and check for signs of life when performing CPR on an adult?
When performing CPR on an adult, you should check for signs of life every 5 cycles of chest compressions and ventilations. Each cycle consists of 30 compressions and 2 ventilations. So, after every 5 cycles (150 compressions and 10 ventilations), you should stop and check for signs of life.
To check for signs of life, look for any movement, breathing, or coughing. If the person is moving or breathing, you should stop CPR and call for emergency medical help. If the person is not moving or breathing, you should continue CPR until emergency medical help arrives.
