What does CCE mean in Medical Coding?
CCE stands for Correct Coding Edit. In medical coding, CCEs are a set of rules that help ensure that medical claims are coded accurately and consistently. CCEs are published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and are used by all Medicare contractors to review medical claims. When medical coders do not apply the CCI (Correct Coding Initiative), they may encounter claims that are auto denied with CCE edits due to being coded incorrectly.CPR - Related Articles
