How to Obtain CPR Certification

Obtaining CPR certification is not a difficult task. Having CPR certification can be a lifesaving tool because you never know when you might have to use your CPR skills. Knowing CPR can provide you with the comfort and peace of mind you need to safely get through an emergency.

      Contact your local American Red Cross (see References) or hospital and say that you are seeking to get CPR certification. The office will be able to either provide you with CPR certification training instructor names and contact information or provide the CPR training for you in its facility at a charge.

      Ask your employer to sponsor CPR certification training for its employees. Be sure to explain to your employer the lifesaving benefits of its employees knowing CPR. This way you will be able to obtain CPR certification free of charge.

      Sign up to be a CPR certification instructor to obtain your certification by contacting your local American Red Cross. With being a CPR certification instructor you will be able to make money instructing others seeking CPR certification.

      Visit the American Heart Association website (see References) to find CPR training courses in your area. Underneath the CPR & ECC topic selection you would choose the option to "Find a CPR Class (ECC Class Connector)." From there you will be able to enter your Zip code and mile radius you are willing to travel for CPR certification training.
