How to Move a Person From an Electrical Line
It is imperative to take quick action when a person encounters an electrical line. If it is a high-voltage line, the accident results in severe burns, serious injuries and often death. Being prepared for this type of emergency is vital to lessen the severity of the injuries. This type of accident may occur due to pruning trees near the wires, clearing storm damage, touching a tool to a line, carrying ladders or other tall tools near electrical lines or other everyday chores.Things You'll Need

1
Call emergency personnel immediately to receive prompt medical attention. Speedy treatment may save the life of the person.
-
2
Caution everyone to stand at least 20 feet away from the victim. This prevents them from being electrocuted as well. As hard as it is to stand and watch, involvement will only result in other individuals being electrocuted as well.
-
3
Assist the emergency personnel in any way possible once they arrive, even if it is only to ensure the safety of the public. People panic in this type of situation and crowd control is often the most helpful activity necessary, particularly if family members are nearby.
-
4
Instruct someone to disconnect the power source by shutting down the main breaker If the electrocution does not involve a high-voltage wire. Attempt to move the individual. Push the person away from the electrical current with a broom, rubber doormat, a wooden chair or other nonmetal object. If at all possible, stand on a rubber doormat or newspaper while attempting to push the person away from the line of electricity.
