Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is a system that responds to a call for help during an illness or injury to provide medical care. Each state and territory has a lead EMS agency made up of private and public organizations that include EMS workers, doctors, nurses, therapists, trauma centers, hospitals, transportation and communication networks. The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians and EMS Magazine recognize paid and volunteer EMS professionals and agencies each year at the National EMS Awards of Excellence.-

CCEMS provides several programs to prevent injury, improve response and provide progressive patient care including a back injury prevention program and a cardiac care program. They created a wellness program to provides free health screenings to its employees and developed EMS trainee and student exchange programs.
