How to Splint Broken Bones

Broken bones are a common injury, especially in children, because their bones are softer, according to KidsHealth.org. The most important step to take when dealing with a broken bone is to keep the body part as still as possible. Moving the bone can cause a lot of pain and more damage. Use a splint to hold the injury still while transporting the victim to a hospital or doctor. If you can't safely wrap the splint, find assistance or call an ambulance.
